Estimate assumptions
| Estimate | Web-chart assumption |
|---|---|
| Vessel speed | 20 knots |
| Fuel consumption | 10 US gallons per hour |
These values are fixed planning estimates in the lightweight web tool. Treat them as a quick comparison, not as a prediction for your vessel.
Saved routes and privacy
Routes created in SeaVectors Web are saved in this browser's local storage. They are not automatically uploaded to your SeaVectors account or synchronized with the native app.
Clearing browser data, using private-browsing mode, or switching devices or browsers can remove or hide those routes. If a route matters for an upcoming voyage, recreate and verify it in the native app or keep a separate record.
When to use the native app
The web chart is designed for fast viewing and lightweight planning. Use the native SeaVectors app when you need the complete onboard experience, including richer route tools, offline preparation, live NMEA instruments, AIS awareness, weather and tide workflows, alerts, tracks, markers, and My Data Hub.
Navigation note
Browser routes and estimates are planning aids. Check the route against current official information, conditions, local regulations, your vessel's capabilities, and hazards that may not be apparent at the selected zoom. Maintain a proper lookout and use all available means to navigate safely.
